TEACHER INCENTIVE FUND
The Teacher Incentive Fund (TIF), a federal grant program designed to support innovative approaches to reforming teacher pay, supports performance-based compensation systems for teachers and administrators in high-needs schools. The goals of the Teacher Incentive Fund program include:
- Improving student achievement by increasing teacher and principal effectiveness;
- Reforming teacher and principal compensation systems so
that teachers and principals are rewarded
for increases in student achievement; - Increasing the number of effective teachers teaching poor,
minority, and disadvantaged students in
hard-to-staff subjects; and - Creating sustainable performance-based compensation systems.
CTAC, a national leader in the field of performance-based compensation system development and evaluation, is involved in the following TIF projects:
- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, North Carolina
- Henrico County Public Schools, Virginia
- Prince William County Schools, Virginia
- Northern Humboldt Union High School District, California
