Gertrude Jones, Instructional Specialist, is a leader in supporting school turnaround initiatives. Her extensive career in education includes 35 years as a master elementary educator and researcher in the development and use of alternative assessments and integrated instruction. Mentoring and peer coaching led Ms. Jones to serve as a facilitator for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and Clinical Faculty Coordinator at Virginia Union University. Her previous roles also include public school coach for hands-on science, VDOE Content Review Specialist, and adjunct professor for graduate teacher preparation science classes at Virginia Commonwealth University. Ms. Jones is a contributor to AEL professional publications and an advocate for education at the local, state and national levels.
